Lions Club to serve lunch at Crawfordsville Fun Days July 6

Fourteen members were present for the 6:30 p.m. meeting, May 13, 2024 of the Crawfordsville Lions Club in the Crawfordsville Community Room.

President Mindy Wilson called the meeting to order leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Gene Miller gave the prayer.

After enjoying a meal of pizza, the meeting reconvened and Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the April 23 meeting, which were approved as read and Treasurer Finke gave the treasurer's report.

Old Business: The WACO scholarship recipient has been chosen and Lion Luetta will make the presentation tomorrow night, May 17 at Awards Night at Wayland.

New Business: The Club voted to serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Crawfordsville Fun Days, which will be Saturday, July 6. On the menu will be Porkburgers, Baked Beans, Chips and Drinks. This will be offered for a freewill offering and will be held at the Fire Station on Main Street.

A thank-you note was passed from parents of the After-Prom Committee for the club's donation. The President presented a Membership patch she had received. A motion was made, seconded and passed to send a donation to Camp Courageous. Also, the president told the group the Community Club was asking our club to come get what they wanted that belongs to them at the shack at the ball field, following our meeting, as the ball games are starting soon up there and they will be using the building. Lion Rose brought to the group's attention a service project that could be done in the area. More information will be brought to the next meeting.

Since the club's next meeting falls on Memorial Day the group voted to hold their next meeting, Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m.

There being no further business, the President adjourned the meeting and the group went to the ball field to sort out items they wanted.

IMPACTLIFE Blood Drive

The Lions Club will sponsor a Blood Drive Monday, June 3, 2024 from 1:30-6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Crawfordsville Allumni Gathering

The Crawfordsville Alumni, including spouses and friends will gather On Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville Fellowship Hall. Anyone who attended the Crawfordsville school is welcome to attend. The time will be spent sharing stories and memories. The United Church Women will serve light refreshments.
