The L.O.A.F. Program helps feed school-aged kids who depend on free breakfasts and lunches during the school year.
Through L.O.A.F., low-income families can visit The Lord?s Cupboard once a week during the summer and receive a small bag of easily prepared foods for the kids. Families also receive a small voucher for kid-friendly foods good at Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store.
To be eligible for The L.O.A.F. Program, Jefferson County families must either be current Lord?s Cupboard clients or must meet income guidelines as listed on the Facebook page and on the website at www.LordsCupboard.org.
The Lord?s Cupboard of Jefferson County serves as the county?s sole emergency food pantry and serves about 500 food orders per month. Nearly 50 percent of those served by the pantry are under the age of 18.
Donations of food or cash are accepted at The Lord?s Cupboard from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
