Seneca Area Agency on Aging, in cooperation with Meals On Wheels Association of America, is celebrating the national campaign March For Meals recognizing the 40th anniversary of Senior Nutrition Programs in the Older America Act.
The Older America Act is the primary piece of federal legislation that authorizes and supports vital nutrition services, both congregate and home- delivered meals.
During March, local elected officials will be asked to deliver meals to seniors in the community to help raise awareness of senior programs. The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center community meal site will be hosting the event.
Anyone who would like to help at a meal site can call the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center at 472-4403.
Contact Seneca Area Agency on Aging at 641-682-2270 or 800-642- 6522 for more information on this or any senior- or caregiver-related issue.
