Lois Jean Caldwell, 93, New London, died March 4, in Oskaloosa.

Lois was born October 30, 1925 in Trenton, the daughter of Lee and Katherine Elliott McPheron . She married Rex Howell, they divorced. She later married Maxin E. Caldwell. They also divorced. She attended New London Schools and received her GED, finishing as Valedictorian. She was a member of Harmony Bible Church.

Lois worked at Henry County Care Facility, retiring in 1992. She was a member of RSVP, SHIIP, New London VFW Women's Auxiliary 7641, and was secretary for New London Care Center Review Committee.

Lois is survived by children Sharon Myers, New Sharon and Bradley Howell, New London; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother Dr. Paul McPheron, New London. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry Lee Howell who died in Viet Nam, daughter Sandy Branch, grandson Scott Myers, and brother Dick McPheron.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM, March 7 at Elliott Chapel, Pastor Jeff McPheron officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until service time. Lois has donated her body to science.
