Lord’s Cupboard selected for Hy-Vee reusable bag program
Jun. 16, 2021 5:49 pm
Shoppers can give back to the local community and help to reduce single-use plastics by purchasing a special reusable bag at Hy-Vee. The Lord's Cupboard has been selected by the Fairfield Hy-Vee store leadership to receive the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program for the month of July.
The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program is designed to give back to the local community with every reusable bag purchased. Every reusable bag sold supports a nonprofit local to the store in which it was purchased. The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable bag purchased at this location in July.
“This year has brought so many changes and difficulties for nonprofits at the hyper-local level,” said Susan Frey, Executive Director of The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County. “We are thrilled to be participating in this innovative program that makes it possible for shoppers to give back to local nonprofits while reducing single-use plastics in the environment. We appreciate the community's support in this important initiative to make a difference.”
The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County is a nonprofit based in Fairfield serving Jefferson County’s low-income, food-insecure families. Learn more about The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County by visiting www.LordsCupboard.org or find it on Facebook: Facebook/Lords Cupboard.
