Lowe family gathers for birthday celebration

The Wayne and Debbie Lowe family gathered the weekend of March 6-9, 2025 at their home to celebrate Wayne's birthday and to attend a dinner at Miller Homestead Cooking near Kalona.
Enjoying their time together were Renee Lowe from Cheyenne, WY, Karen and Lance Brisky from Lodi, WI, Kaelyn and Sam Burke from St. Paul, MN, Jordan Brisky and Reese Priebe from Lakeville, MN. and Adrian and Kayla Klobucnik from Crawfordsville, Iowa
UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
The United Church Women met Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. with nine ladies and Pastor Jason present.
Donna Fletcher gave the meditation from the book "Then Sings My Soul" by Robert Morgan.
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.
Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the January 14 meeting and they were approved with one addition....It was noted the addition of giving to World Central Kitchen's.
Treasurer Pat Miller gave her report. The books are being audited.
Correspondence:
Thank you notes were read from the U.P. and Samaritan's Purse. Deb shared an article from the Mediapolis newspaper that told about the Wounded Warrior Program. Joyce mentioned that her daughter, Janet had been promoted to the rank of Colonel.
Committees: Marlene was reminded about there being adequate supplies for the upcoming soup supper.
Dorcas: Donna reported 27 quilts had been taken to HACAP Daycare and how much they were appreciated.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts: The usual cards had been sent.
Mission Outreach: Margaret reported activities at the U.P. Home and and their Disaster Assistance that they had granted nearly $6,000,000 in 42 countries and 32 states.
Old Business: None
New Business: Rummage Sale was discussed and it will be held Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. until noon. Set-up for the event will be Tuesday, April 23 at 9 a.m. The Committee: Donna and Billie Jo.
Deb brought to everyone's attention there were many items, pictures, old minutes and treasurer's reports and many old UCW books that are needing a new home and asking what to do with them.

Following a motion to adjourn Deb thanked Donna for hostessing and the Closing Creed was read in unison. Her closing thought was: "In trying times, don't quit trying" and from Galatians 6:9- let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.
SPRING CLEAN UP
The city of Crawfordsville will be holding Spring Clean-up on Monday, April 28, 2025. Further information will follow in the near future.
