Macdonalds celebrate 50 years of matrimony

Jim and Karen (Wagner) Macdonald celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on June 5, 1971 at the Marion Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, Iowa. They currently live in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Karen was an Administrative Specialist with Iowa State University in Ames and retired in March 2012. Jim was a mechanical engineer at the John Deere Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, Iowa and retired from there in April 2005 to become Sr. Engineer at Sauer Danfoss in Ames. He retired from Danfoss in December 2011.
Their family includes three children: John (Vivien) Macdonald of Fort Collins, Colorado, Anne (Adam) Chipman of Harlan, Iowa, and Grant (Robin) Macdonald of Chicago, Illinois. It also includes nine grandchildren: Sydney, Caleb, and Sophia (John) Macdonald, Luke and Isaac Chipman (Anne), and Chloe, Violet, Jack, and Penelope (Grant) Macdonald. Karen’s mother Thelma Wagner resides at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa.
The couple celebrated their anniversary over Memorial Day weekend in Iowa, which included a trip to Adventureland in Altoona, a favorite destination of their children when they were young.
Jim and Karen Macdonald were married on June 5, 1971.
