Machaels celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Hal and Sara (Schoonover) Machael will be having their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13.

They were married at the Washington United Methodist Church. Hal is retired from the plumbing business. He ran his own business, Hal's Plumbing, for many years. Sara is retired from Maquoketa Schools where she was a middle school secretary.

They have two children Jay Machael and Amanda (Adam) Steines, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. To celebrate their 50th, their children are hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 1-4 p.m. at Maquoketa Brewery. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
