Fairfield Public Library is hosting another Mad Scientist Day from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday so young patrons and their families can participate in free, hands-on experiments to learn about alternative energy, minerals, chemistry, outer space and make their own cotton candy.
The program is led by Jim Birkel of Mad Science of Iowa and aims to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing educational, entertaining and fun activities.
After participating in hands-on experiments, children gain a better understanding of what science is all about and how it affects the world around them.
Participants will receive a passport upon arrival. They can present the passport to be stamped at each station, and, when completed, present it at the library?s front desk to win prizes.
For more information, call the library at 472-6551.
