Maharishi School excels in art competition
Maharishi School students won nine awards, including Best of Show, at the Southeast Iowa Superconference Art Competition April 5 at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant.
Students from 19 high schools in southeast Iowa spent part of the day in all things art-related while professional artists and instructors acted as muses to inspire their creativity.

? Brendon Park, ?In the Sandbox,? sculpture, honorable mention.
Carol Keller-Hein, one of the event organizers and an art teacher at Mediapolis High School, said the workshop was a great opportunity for students interested in going into the arts as a career.
?These students are the cream of the crop, and they are the ones that will go into the arts to be an art teacher, college instructor, graphic design artist or even start their own business,? said Keller-Hein.
