Since 2012, Horgen has been assisting with coordination of an excavation for mammoth bones in Mahaska County where, so far, evidence of at least three separate wooly mammoths has been unearthed. The Mahaska County dig will be the topic of her talk.
Horgen also has been involved with the ongoing Tarkio Valley Sloth Project in southwest Iowa.
Her visit is sponsored by the Indian Hills Community College Science Club and the college?s department of arts and sciences.
