Many special programs this week in Fairfield churchs

Fairfield churches are having a variety of special programs and events this week leading up to Christmas weekend.

First Baptist Church will have its Awana and Sunday school children and youth Christmas program at 6 p.m. Sunday.

First Lutheran Church has a children?s Christmas program during its regular 9 a.m. Sunday worship service with a Jesus? birthday party after worship.

First Presbyterian Church?s choir will present a cantata at its regular 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. On Saturday and Sunday, the church is hosting the Chamber Singers of Southeast Iowa Concert at 8 p.m.

Foursquare Gospel Church will have a children?s Christmas presentation and a Christmas message from The Rev. James Cecil, pastor of the church during the regular 10 a.m. Sunday service with refreshments available after service. At 6 p.m. Sunday, the annual Christmas Stars program and talent night is open to the community.

Immanuel Lutheran Church has a special Christmas service with the children?s program, Dear Theophilus, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The New Life Community Free Methodist Church?s Tuesday ladies 1:30 p.m. Bible study group will include a Christmas party this week.

The church also hosts a weekly soup supper at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. This Wednesday is family movie night. ?The Nativity,? suitable for all ages will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is a non-perishable item for the New Life Community food pantry. And at 6:30 p.m. Friday is the family Christmas caroling event.
