Margaret Patterson to celebrate 80th birthday

Margaret Patterson is the mother of Tiffany Hogue and Krista Woltman (Kirk), and they treasure time spent traveling, shopping, and embracing the joys of grandmotherhood together. Margaret is a proud and involved grandmother to Cory (Shelby), Brittany, Cody (Megan), Mitchell, Bree, Miles (Briann), and Mac. Her greatest joy comes from time with her great-grandchildren: Maddie, Remi, Gearsyn, Benson, Ellanor, and Bodie, all of whom know and love their great grandma – Nain (The Welsh word for grandmother). Margaret’s faith in Christ is evident in her daily life.

An active and vibrant part of her community, Margaret regularly attends her local church The United Church of Crawfordsville and participates regularly in numerous local community clubs. Her enthusiasm for giving back shines through a lifetime of volunteerism, she never misses a family gathering or community event if she can help it, and is always the first to lend a helping hand.

Born to the late Alfred and Elanor Davis of Crawfordsville, Margaret graduated from Winfield-Mt. Union High School in 1963. She spent nearly two decades with Harnischfeger Corp. in Cedar Rapids before working 23 years in Human Resources at Iowa City’s Procter & Gamble facility. She retired in 2014 and has been savoring life ever since.

Margaret enjoys connecting with her brother Dallas Davis (Kay), nieces and nephews, many cousins, former coworkers, and high school friends. Her hobbies include sightseeing, vacationing, pulling weeds (a well-known favorite!), and further exploring her Welsh Genealogy. As President of the Iowa Welsh Society, she proudly represents her roots at National Welsh Festivals across the country.

Margaret’s life is full of love, adventure, and purpose and her family celebrates her Christ led legacy with tremendous pride and deep affection. Happy 80th Birthday, Margaret!
