Marimba virtuoso to perform Saturday at IHCC concert

OTTUMWA ? Internationally-acclaimed marimba virtuoso Matthew Coley will present a solo concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Auditorium on Indian Hills? Ottumwa campus.
As part of the Indian Hills Community College Performing and Visual Arts series, the concert is free and open to the public.
Coley has distinguished himself as one of the country?s most versatile percussion artists and educators. Performing on marimba, percussion, cimbalom and hammer dulcimer, he has performed as a soloist and collaborator with orchestras and ensembles throughout the U.S. and abroad including the Millennium Chamber Players, San Francisco Sinfonietta, Kurpfalzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim and Moldavian Philharmonic and Teleradio Symphony Orchestras.
Coley also has been featured three times on Chicago?s WFMT classical radio station and in a feature article in Time Out Chicago Magazine. He is currently serving as lecturer in percussion at Iowa State University.
