The group will decorate a tree for Conger House at Christmas. It will be in the dining room of Conger House, with the theme yet to be decided. Linda will notify the members as soon as she knows. Members volunteered to help at the Questers International Convention in Des Moines in May 2016. Plans will start in January. It was announced that there will be a tea at Terrace Hill in December, and all are invited to attend. Discussion was held about making a field trip in December.
The program was presented by Janet Peterson and was from a 1942 book called ?Out of a Handkerchief.? The book presented creative ways to fold a handkerchief into different shapes. Janet handed out handkerchiefs and directions, and the members tried folding them into butterflies, sailboats, alligators and many other things. Some were more successful than others, but it was a fun activity. Marilyn Whitenack shared some of her extensive handkerchief collection, and Mary Statler showed a handkerchief that she carried at her wedding. It was made of flax that was raised and woven by her mother, who also sewed tatting on the border.
The next meeting will be Nov. 21 at the home of Vicki Ealy, with co-hostess Pat Johnston. Jane Fehr will present the program, on paper dolls.
