Martha Washington Questers

Martha Washington Questers 1032 resumed meetings for the year with a trip to Oskaloosa on Aug. 23, 2014. Members enjoyed a day of antiquing on the town?s square. Lunch was eaten at the Smokey Row Coffee restaurant, which made for much conversation. It is a fun-filled restored building featuring a soda fountain, along with some unique memorabilia such as the marquee from the old movie theater.

A short business meeting was held after lunch, and program books for 2014-15 were handed out. The treasurer?s report was given, which remained unchanged. The upcoming State Area Days event was discussed, with no plans at this time to attend.

Janet Peterson made a motion that the group contact the state officers and offer to help with the international convention being held in Des Moines in May 2016.

The next meeting will be on Sept. 26 at the home of Linda Newlon. Gerry Schmidt will serve as co-hostess.
