Mary Hoyer to speak on net-zero home at Fairfield Public Library
N/A
Sep. 24, 2018 11:06 am
Mary Hoyer and her husband are building a new comfortable, energy-efficient home in Salem, and now that it's almost finished, she is eager to share what they learned in the process of making the idea of a net zero home a reality. Net zero means the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site.
Hoyer's talk and slideshow presentation will be at the Fairfield Public Library, at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 27, and is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments afterward, allowing time for individual questions and discussion. The event is sponsored by the SE Iowa Sierra Club group.
