WEST POINT, N.Y. ? Cadet Zachary Matson, son of Colleen and Charlie Matson of Fairfield, graduated with distinction from the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School at West Point, N.Y.
The Class of 2012 was the first to graduate from the completed re-location of the prep school campus from Fort Monmouth, N.J.
Matson graduated from Fairfield High School in 2008. While at USMAPS, he was made executive officer and participated in the International Sandhurst Competition.
He will be a member of the West Point Corp of Cadets, Class of 2016.
His parents attended the parade and graduation ceremony.
