Jeff and Michelle Pacha and their four sons of Wichita, Kansas, spent spring break of March 10 with Gerald and Rosemary Pacha. They had plans for things they wanted to do outdoors, like fishing, but the weather didn't cooperate, so instead they enjoyed playing lots of cards, visiting, eating and making cinnamon rolls.
St. Joseph & Cabrini Altar and Rosary met for their monthly meeting on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 12. Approximately 10 people attended. Winifred Fritz led the prayer after which co-presidents Rosemary Pacha and Bonnie Adrian led the meeting. The annual soup supper held at Cabrini Hall Saturday, March 3, was quite successful even with cold weather. Plans were discussed for the weekly Lenten services on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. followed by a soup supper. The first service was held at St. Joseph Wednesday night, March 13, and the following was held March 20 at Cabrini Hall; meetings will alternate back and forth each week. Nancy Anderson shared about a series of booklets on Family Life issues from the KCs. It was moved to continue the prayer chain. Correspondence was read from Dennis Linnencamp who fell on the ice and broke his leg and from the Bush family whose father, Lane, passed away. A card and memorial gift was received from the Thelma Mahan family, who was a member of the parish. Shirley Van Dee, parish life administrator, led the group in a prayer to close the meeting.
Approximately 20 people from the Brighton, Wayland, Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant and Ollie areas attended the weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting at the Brighton Church of God, Thursday, March 14. They heard a testimonial from a husband and wife who restored their relationship (damaged by his sexual addiction and her codependency, constantly comparing herself to other women, telling herself for years how she wasn't good enough) through Celebrate Recovery. The next meeting, open to the public, will be held Thursday, March 21, beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
Providing the evening meal of March 10 at the Brighton home of Winifred Fritz were her children Joel and Mary Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth and Greg and Deb Fritz, all of Fairfield. Bridget, Joel and Debi Fritz, Winifred's daughter-in-law, had just returned from a mission trip. They'd helped rebuild houses near Haiti.
Twenty-six people played 10 point pitch on March 12. they met at the Brighton Community Building. Male winners were Jerry Clive and Gary DeWold. Janet Fritz and Ann Snyder were the female winners.
