Maharishi School senior Atreya Dey meets chemistry Nobel Prize winner Dr. Dudley Herschbach at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 9-13 in Los Angeles, Calif. Dey continued to garner international recognition at the fair, placing fourth in the environmental management category and winning $500 for his research. Dey was commended by the U.S. Army and Navy and was considered and commended by King Abdul Aziz and his companies for the Creativity and Giftedness Award. Only 10 projects were considered for the award and only three were given out.
?This was definitely the experience of a lifetime,? said Dey. ?Hundreds of the smartest young minds from across the world gathered at this single competition. Meeting with Nobel laureates, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and scientifically driven students inspired me to continue on the path of science.?
