Fairfield congregate meals
Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Community Center.
The menu for the coming week is:
Monday - beef burrito, chuck wagon corn, mixed green lettuce salad with dressing, banana, crispy rice bar.
Tuesday - baked chicken, cheesy macaroni salad, spinach, fresh melon.
Wednesday meatloaf, red-skin potatoes, tomato-cucumber salad, mandarin oranges, pumpkin pie.
Thursday - salmon patty, lemon wedge, baked potato with sour cream, broccoli-cauliflower-raisin salad, diced peaches.
Friday - pork cutlet, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, roasted brussels sprouts, banana-cinnamon oatmeal bar.
Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.
Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. Reservations can be made either at the community center or by calling 472-4403.
For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.
Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.
Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Community Center.

The Fairfield Community School District has announced the menu for the coming week.
Elementary schools:
Menu not available. The last day of school is Wednesday.
Middle school:
Menu not available. The last day of school is Wednesday.
High school:
Monday - Breakfast: cook's choice. Lunch: cook's choice.
Tuesday - Breakfast: biscuit and gravy. Lunch: cook's choice.
Wednesday - Breakfast: cook's choice. Lunch: cook's choice. Wednesday is the last day of school.
Milk, juice, fruit and a choice of mini doughnuts, Pop-Tarts, breakfast bar or breakfast bread is served with breakfast. Milk is served with lunch. Offered daily for lunch is a choice of: fruit and yogurt parfait with granola, sub sandwich, specialty salad, nachos-to-go or Uncrustable PBJ. A fresh garden bar, with romaine salad with a choice of dressings, fresh vegetables and fresh fruit, is available for lunch.
