Fairfield congregate meals
Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Community Center.
The menu for the coming week is:
Monday - roast beef, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, cream-style corn, apricot halves.
Tuesday - cook's choice with dessert.
Wednesday - chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, spinach with vinegar, peach-raisin-sauce.
Thursday - meatloaf, baked potato with sour cream, broccoli cuts, banana.
Friday - breakfast casserole, baked sweet potato, stewed tomatoes, wheat English muffin, yogurt, orange juice. Alternate dine-in option: potato-crusted fish fillet.
Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.
Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. Reservations can be made either at the community center or by calling 472-4403.
For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.
Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.
Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Community Center.

Fairfield school meals
The Fairfield Community School District has announced the menu for the coming week.
Elementary schools:
Monday - breakfast: yogurt and granola bites. Lunch: orange chicken, rice, steamed broccoli, celery sticks, peaches.
Tuesday - breakfast: biscuit and jelly. Lunch: cheeseburger on a bun, sweet potato crosstrax, cucumber, mixed fruit.
Wednesday - breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: meat and cheese nachos, peppy pinto beans, salsa, tortilla chips, fresh fruit.
Thursday - breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: cheese-filled breadsticks with marinara, green beans, fresh fruit.
Friday - breakfast: long john. Lunch: pancakes, sausage patties, Tater Tots, baby carrots, strawberry cup.
Milk, juice and fruit is served with breakfast. Milk is served with lunch. An alternate meal of a sack lunch is available by request in the school office daily.
Middle school:
Monday - breakfast: yogurt and granola bites. Lunch: orange chicken or teriyaki chicken, rice, steamed broccoli, peaches.
Tuesday - breakfast: biscuit and jelly. Lunch: cheeseburger on a bun or BBQ chicken on a bun, sweet potato crosstrax, mixed fruit.
Wednesday - breakfast: breakfast bar. Lunch: taco meat and cheese nachos or chicken fajita and cheese, peppy pinto beans, tortilla chips, fresh fruit.
Thursday - breakfast: breakfast pizza. Lunch: cheese-filled breadsticks with marinara or corn dog, green beans, fresh fruit.
Friday - breakfast: long john. Lunch: pancakes or biscuit and gravy, sausage patties, Tater Tots, baby carrots, strawberry cup.

High school:
Monday - breakfast: ultimate breakfast round. Lunch: cheeseburger on a bun or BBQ rib patty on a bun, baked beans, mixed fruit.
Tuesday - breakfast: biscuit and gravy. Lunch: egg and cheese omelet or egg and sausage patties, cinnamon roll, tri taters, sidekick.
Wednesday - breakfast: filled crescent roll. Lunch: Nacho bar, with choice of taco meat and cheese sauce or chicken and cheese sauce, peppy pinto beans, tortilla chips, peaches.
Thursday - breakfast: biscuit and gravy. Lunch: cheesy Trojan bread with marinara sauce or chili cheese max wrap, corn, applesauce.
Friday - breakfast: tornado. Lunch: orange chicken or sweet chili Thai chicken, rice, steamed broccoli, pears.
Milk, juice, fruit and a choice of mini doughnuts, Pop Tarts, breakfast bar or breakfast bread is served with breakfast. Milk is served with lunch. Offered daily for lunch is a choice of: fruit and yogurt parfait with granola, sub sandwich, specialty salad, nachos-to-go or Uncrustable PBJ. A fresh garden bar, with romaine salad with a choice of dressings, fresh vegetables and fresh fruit, is available for lunch.
