Michael R. ?Mike? Smith, 55, of rural West Point, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the Donnellson Health Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with Rev. Dean Moberg officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Cemetery near Donnellson.

Michael R. ?Mike? Smith, 55, of rural West Point, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the Donnellson Health Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with Rev. Dean Moberg officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Cemetery near Donnellson.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Central Lee School Foundation or the St Paul?s United Church of Christ.
Smith was born July 18, 1959, at Keokuk, the son of Walter Wayne and Maxine L. Schoene Smith.
Smith was a member of St Paul?s United Church of Christ in Donnellson; he was a 1978 graduate of Central Lee High School. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing, baseball and time spent with his family.
Smith is survived by one sister, Sheryl George, of Arvada, Colo.; one brother, Steve Smith, of West Point; his step-mother, Evelyn Bogert-Smith; one step-brother, John Bogert, of Donnellson; and one step-sister, Janice (Greg) Gobble, of West Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna Dahms; two brothers, John and Dale Smith.
