Mid-Am Building Supply, located in Mt. Pleasant, recently awarded 17 students with college scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.
Alan Knaebel, President of Mid-Am Building Supply, introduced the Mid-Am Scholarship Program last year as an additional benefit for employees working for the company. Employees with children attending college full or part time are eligible to receive up to a $1,000 scholarship annually.
?Our children?s education is the future of our country. We want to ensure that every one of our employees has the opportunity to send their children to college and to continue their education?, said Knaebel.
Locally, Zoey Hartrick, daughter of Mid-Am employee, Dean Hartrick, received one of the 17 scholarships. Since the inception of the scholarship program, Mid-Am has awarded over $34,000 to students seeking to continue their education.
In business since 1967, Mid-Am Building Supply is the largest building materials distributor in the mid-west, with locations in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. Mid-Am opened its Mt. Pleasant location in 1984.
