Mid-Prairie FFA attend leadership conference
Nineteen members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter traveled to Ames for the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference April 19-21. Those attending were: Tasha Allen, Noah Altenhofen, David Bayliss, Sage Becker, Hunter Eden, Makenzie Fay, Brent Foster, Becca Frantz, Katie Frantz, Cody Knepp, Averi Kron, Rhett Leonard, Kelli Lindemann, Creigh Rourke, Greta Schmidt, Dylan Schrock, Bella Sexton, Erica Slabaugh and Wyatt Stumpf.

Nineteen members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter traveled to Ames for the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference April 19-21. Those attending were: Tasha Allen, Noah Altenhofen, David Bayliss, Sage Becker, Hunter Eden, Makenzie Fay, Brent Foster, Becca Frantz, Katie Frantz, Cody Knepp, Averi Kron, Rhett Leonard, Kelli Lindemann, Creigh Rourke, Greta Schmidt, Dylan Schrock, Bella Sexton, Erica Slabaugh and Wyatt Stumpf.
Dylan Schrock participated in the Chapter Website Career Development Event. He received a gold and was name Reserve Champion. Tasha Allen's Secretary's Book received a silver rating. Creigh Rourke and Averi Kron took the Greenhand Quiz about FFA knowledge and received a silver rating. The Chapter Display put together by Makenzie Fay and Becca Frantz received a silver rating.
Four members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter received their Iowa FFA Degrees. This is the highest award the state can bestow to Iowa FFA members. The four members receiving their degrees were: Tasha Allen, Noah Altenhofen, Cody Knepp and Rhett Leonard. Wyatt Stumpf took part in th emassing of the FFA flags ceremony at the beginning of the second general session. One flag from each chapter was brough forward and presented to the audience. Hunter Eden, Brent Foster, Kelli Lindemann, Bella Sexton and Erica Slabaugh were a part of the Iowa FFA Chorus. Dylan Schrock was the chairperson of the Auditing Committee which reviewed and made recommendations on the financial standings of the Iowa FFA Organization. Greta Schmidt was a member of the Program of Activities committee which reviewed activities which the Iowa FFA Association participates in throughout the year. Rhett Leonard and Greta Schmidt served as voting delegates for the chapter. Sage Becker, Katie Frantz, and Rhett Leonard served as members of the Courtesy Corps.
The Mid-Prairie FFA chapter was recognized as a gold-rated superior chapter in the National Chapter Program. An application was previously completed and judged based on the chapter's involvement in the areas of student, chapter, and community activities. The chapter's application will now move on to compete at the national level. The chapter was recognized with the WHO publicity award. The Mid-Prairie FFA chapter was the sponsor of the Agriscience Plant Research proficiency award. The chapter also was recognized for being a gold sponsor of the Iowa FFA Foundation.
Members had a chance to tour the Iowa State Meats Lab and spent time at the Career Show. They went to sessions which highlighted the achievements of the Iowa FFA throughout the past year, had the chance to listen to inspiration speakers, attended a BBQ sponsored by the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and a fun night at the Memorial Union.
