On Oct. 25, 10 Mid-Prairie FFA members packed up and headed for Indianapolis, Indiana to take part in the National FFA Convention. Members who attended were: Quinn Callahan, Marissa Cline, Peighton Ford, Alexa Huber, Leslie Miller, Payton Peck, Gabi Robertson, Jacey Sisson, Kelyn Yoder and Braydon Younge Mid-Prairie FFA Advisor Elsa Schmidt was the chaperone for the trip.
On Wednesday, members toured the Linden Hill Dairy farm outside of Peoria, IL. Members learned more about the brown swiss dairy industry. Members attended the Opening Session which highlighted by the keynote speaker, Tamika Catchings.
On Thursday, Members toured Ball State University where they took a campus tour, walked through Christy Woods and then toured the campus greenhouse. During the evening, they attended the National FFA Talent Show.
On Friday, Mid-Prairie FFA members visited the Career Show and Expo, where they received information from colleges, ag businesses and other organizations associated with agriculture. They also attended the 5th General Session..
On Saturday, one member of the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter received their American FFA Degree. David Murray received the American FFA degree of which less than 1% of all FFA members obtain. Members returned home following the ceremony.
