Mid-Prairie High School competes at speech contest

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Mid-Prairie High School speech team competed at the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) Large Group State contest at Linn-Mar High School. Six of the nine group entries received ?1? ratings, with four of the six receiving a perfect ?1-1-1? and two receiving an ?overall 1? rating.

Groups who received 1-1-1 ratings were: One-act Play ?Babel?s in Arms?-Brennyn Hawbaker, Mycailah Salvador, Hanna Mansfield, Morgan Allison and Brittney Miller; Musical Theater ?Cinderella?-Mycailah Salvador, Brennyn Hawbaker, Haylee Marner; Short Film ?Behind the Scenes of Zombie Kittens?-Jimmy Roth, Jonah VanRoekel, Austin Schlabaugh, Brandon Wade, Wade Stutzman, Bailey Cole, Morgan Allison; Readers Theater ?Christmas Every Day?-Brandon Wade, Aleigha Gugel, Hannah VanRoekel, Mike Meserole, Sage Becker, Abby Pickard, Anna Mayer, Jessie Teets. Receiving ?overall 1? ratings were: Group Improv-Ben Ahrens, Mike Meserole, Bailey Cole; Ensemble Acting ?Sandy is an Eggplant, Shannon is a Pretty Girl?-Haylee Marner, Hannah VanRoekel.
