Mid-Prairie jazz band competes
The Mid-Prairie High School jazz band received its fifth consecutive Division 1 rating at State Jazz Contest this past Wednesday, Feb. 12. They performed at Clear Creek-Amana High School.

The Mid-Prairie High School jazz band received its fifth consecutive Division 1 rating at State Jazz Contest this past Wednesday, Feb. 12. They performed at Clear Creek-Amana High School.
Members of the jazz band include: saxophonists - Andy Roberts, Sawyer Black, Haylee Marner, Sadie Goll, and Emily Meader; trombonists - Anna Mayer, Madisen Nielsen, Jessica Goll, James Merritt, and Hayley Weber; trumpet players-Austin Schlabaugh, James Rich, Mycailah Salvador, and Alex Rich; pianist - Hannah Van Roekel, bass player - Jonah Van Roekel, drummer - Christian Johnson, and vibrophonist - Jami TeBockhorst.
The jazz band's next performance will be at the middle school on Friday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m., and at the Coe College Jazz Summit competition at 3:30 p.m. The jazz band will also compete on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11:45 a.m.
