Mid-Prairie Large Group Speech competes at conference contest

Eight Mid-Prairie Large Group Speech teams competed Saturday, Jan. 17 at Camanche in the River Valley Conference Large Group Speech Contest. At Conference Speech contests, best of center awards are given.
Groups that earned a Division 1 rating were:
Readers Theatre — The Price — 3rd place in the Readers Theatre category — Meredith Campbell, Ryann Dolan, Brock Lowenberg, Fiona McClellen, Stella Miller, Rebekah Rand, Lilly Redig, Addison Skelton, Parker Thomas, and Alastair Yeggy.
Musical Theatre — 9 to 5 — 1st place in the Musical Theatre Category — Jillian Clark, Ryann Dolan, Tabitha Fisher, Seth Groenewold, Wren Harris, Caroline Schrader, Parker Thomas, and Georgia White.
Ensemble Acting — Peril! (written by Mid-Prairie alum Kyra Helmuth) — 1st place in the Ensemble Acting Category — Tabitha Fisher, Greyson Ghumm, Seth Groenewold, Caroline Schrader, and Georgia White.
Ensemble Acting — Poof! — 2nd place in the Ensemble Acting category — Wren Harris and Lilly Redig.
Group Improvisation — Jillian Clark, Brock Lowenberg and Greyson Ghumm — 2nd place in the Group Improvisation category.
Groups that earned a Division 2 rating were:
Group Improvisation — Gabriel Groff and Ben Trotta.
Short Film — Losing My Senses — Zoë Forbes and Maëlys Beachy.
Ensemble Acting — In Case of Fish — Fiona McClellen, Addison Skelton and Ben Trotta.
The next competition for the Mid-Prairie Speech team will be this coming Saturday, Jan. 24, at Wapello High School for the Iowa High School Speech Association 2026 District Large Group Speech Team. Groups earning a Division 1 rating at District Contest will advance to the IHSSA 2026 State Large Group Speech Contest at Clear Creek Amana on Saturday, February 7.
