Mid-Prairie Music and Drama departments will be presenting the musical ?Bye Bye, Birdie? a satire that takes place in 1958 and centers around an Elvis Presley type rock-and-roll superstar, Conrad Birdie, who will be drafted into the army. His agent and song writer, Albert Peterson, and Albert's secretary and love interest, Rosie Alvarez, plan a farewell performance for Birdie on the Ed Sullivan television show, which they hope will provide the publicity to sell Albert?s new song "One Last Kiss" and bring his company out of debt. At the conclusion of the performance, Birdie is set to kiss one lucky girl from his fan club, Kim MacAfee from Sweet Apple, Ohio.

Abby Pickard as ?Ursula Merkle,? Taylor Hillbrand as ?Mrs. Merkle,? Ciana Carr as ?Gloria Rasputin,? Ryan Sansen as ?Harvey Johnson,? Katie Palmer as ?Alice,? Erin Campbell as ?Margie,? Maizy Fugate as ?Deborah Sue,? Brent Foster as ?Charles F. Maude,? Elijah Meader as Ed Sullivan?s Voice, Elijah Meader as ?Mayor of Sweet Apple, Ohio,? and Steph Schrock as ?Mayor?s Wife,? Nolan Bertelli and Jaiden Sedlacek are reporters, Eli VanRoekel and Evan Meader are policemen, and teen chorus members include Erin Horesowsky, Kaitlin Poock, Gina Waters, Ashley Briscoe, and Lindsey Palmer.
Performance dates for ?Bye Bye, Birdie? will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-15.
