Minutes from Lions Club meeting

The Wayland Lions Club held their Feb. 19 meeting at the Wayland Community Center. There were 10 members and two guests applying for membership.
President Bill Grimm called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the Invocation.
Then the meeting broke for a delicious meal catered by Alice Hochstetler.
At the resumption of the meeting, Lion Brian Pattyson read the minutes of last meeting and Terry Kaufman gave the treasurer's report, which were both approved.
Old Business:
' Wayland Lions members discussed potential new projects for the upcoming year. Many ideas were brought forward for further considerations based on the time of year.
' Upcoming functions include the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20, Blood Drive on June 6, Pancake Breakfast on July 4.
' Brian Pattyson discussed his progress regarding potential of re-establishing a WACO Leo Club at WACO High School. He plans to meet with Principal Tim Bartels to discuss the possibility.
' Wayland Lions confirmed that they would provide the Wayland Lions Club $500 Scholarship for a graduating senior this year.
New Business:
' Former President Jim Hester was awarded the Silver Centennial Pin in recognition of his service and recruiting new members for the Wayland Lions Club.
' President Grimm asked the members to consider guest speakers for future meetings on subjects of interest.
' The official meeting ended at 7:30 p.m.
