How will your high school experiences help you in the coming years? My high school experiences will help me tremendously in the future. I have learned important skills like leadership, communication, organization and how to work by myself and with a group. Throughout high school, I believe those are the most important skills to learn.
Fondest memory of high school? My fondest memory of high school is being able to make connections with other students, community members and teachers. It is hard to pick one memory, all of my favorite memories have been with a sports team, trips, or even working together in class.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? My old English teacher, Andrea Farrier, had the biggest impact on me. She taught me many insightful things not just English. She helped me strengthen my faith, grow closer to God and also helped me work through challenges in my life. She always listened and always had amazing pieces of advice.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? My role models are my two older sisters. They are always there for me and support me in all my events and activities. They have taught me how to take care of livestock, developed a good work ethic and how to be the best person I can be.
What is special about your high school? The small community is the best thing about Hillcrest. This community shows its support towards everyone and there are high levels of respect for everyone. I also enjoy being able to talk about my faith, having time for chapel and connecting with the people through my faith.
If you could go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? I would tell myself to keep forming real relationships with people and to take advantage of all the opportunities you are given. I would also tell myself to help as many people that I can and to make an impact.
