Mosquito management course Oct. 27

The Mosquito/Public Health Pest Management Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators is now available. The program is provided by the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP).
The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7D (Community Insect Management) and 8 (Public Health Pest Control. The course will cover topics such as: application equipment use, maintenance, and calibration; safe application techniques, including pesticide drift reduction; category-specific pests, pest management and pesticides, including vector disease transmission.
The local attendance site is at the ISU Extension and Outreach Washington County Building. Preregistration may be required and walk-ins are not guaranteed admission. Walk-ins on the day of the program will only be admitted if room allows.
The course runs from 9-11:30 a.m. on Oct. 27. There is a fee to register. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Andy Miller at the ISU Extension and Outreach Washington County office at 319-653-4811.
