MP boys? golf team drops home opener

The season officially started for the Mt. Pleasant boys' golf team on Thursday. The Panthers shot a 161, but they were bested by a 156 from Washington.
Mt. Pleasant was led by the duo of Jake Moffett and Brevin Wilson, both of which shot a 39. Moffett had birdies on the fifth and sixth holes, and Wilson shot a birdie on hole three.

The season officially started for the Mt. Pleasant boys? golf team on Thursday. The Panthers shot a 161, but they were bested by a 156 from Washington.
Mt. Pleasant was led by the duo of Jake Moffett and Brevin Wilson, both of which shot a 39. Moffett had birdies on the fifth and sixth holes, and Wilson shot a birdie on hole three.
Rhett Zeglen was third for Mt. Pleasant with a 40. Trace White shot a 43 to round out the scorers. Grant Goody finished at 44 and Austin Buckert shot a 51.
Washington?s Brock Sobaski and Jacob Van Osdol won medalist and runner-up honors. Both Demons finished the day with a one-over score of 47. Sobaski had two birdies on the day, going one under on both the sixth and seventh holes. Van Osdol birdied hole number six.
Dalton Myers shot a 39, which included a birdie on the ninth hole. Brady Knutson shot a 43 to round out the scorers. Caleb Tanner finished with a 46. Mitchell Driscoll was the Demons? sixth scorer, shooting a 51.
The Panthers will be at Elks Fairview Golf Course in Keokuk on Monday, April 9, where they will take on the Chiefs. That meet is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
