MP boys? golf team falls by one

WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? golf team had its first meet on Thursday night against SEC-rival Washington.
The dual was as close as possible. The Panthers and Demons tied through the first four scores, at 169-169, which meant the two teams had to go to tiebreakers.

WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? golf team had its first meet on Thursday night against SEC-rival Washington.
The dual was as close as possible. The Panthers and Demons tied through the first four scores, at 169-169, which meant the two teams had to go to tiebreakers.
The No. 5 players tied, at 45, and the Demons took the meet in the second tiebreaker by having the best No. 6 score, of 45. Mt. Pleasant ended up losing the meet by one stroke in the second tiebreaker.
Trace White led Mt. Pleasant with a 40, which was two strokes off of Washington?s Dalton Myers, who won with a 38.
Jeff Cox was second on the team, with a 41. Riley Kempker and Trevor Mabeus tied at 43 apiece. Jake Moffett scored a 45 and Bailey Shelledy finished the day at 46.
Jacob Feldman led the junior varsity Panthers with a 48. Gavin Christner shot a 53. Jack Pieper finished at 56. Brock Wilson and Nate Zaragoza finished at 60 apiece and Tom O?Connor shot a 63.
Mt. Pleasant will be back in action on Monday, April 10. The Panthers travel to Keokuk to take on the Chiefs, at 4 p.m.
