MP girls? golf places second in Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team finished second of nine teams at a tournament in Oskaloosa on Thursday.
The Panthers shot a 360, outscoring Pella, Ottumwa, PCM, Norwalk, Knoxville, Oskaloosa and Winterset. Centerville won the meet, with a 349.

OSKALOOSA ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team finished second of nine teams at a tournament in Oskaloosa on Thursday.
The Panthers shot a 360, outscoring Pella, Ottumwa, PCM, Norwalk, Knoxville, Oskaloosa and Winterset. Centerville won the meet, with a 349.
Haley Booton had a big day, shooting 85 (in two combined games), which tied her with Centerville?s Madeline McDonald for the runner-up medalist. Centerville?s Emily Moorman shot an 80 to win the tournament.
Cali Liechty tied for fifth place overall, shooting an 87. Keri Herr shot a 91 and Anni Liechty rounded out the Panther top four with a 97. Chloe Beavers finished at 116, and Tori Witthout shot a 122.
Mt. Pleasant finished second at Oskaloosa last year as well. The Panthers improved on last year?s score by 10 strokes.
?Our girls continue to get better,? said Jim Kelly about the tournament. ?(They) are working hard on improving all aspects of their game.?
The Panthers will have a big meet on Monday, April 25, at 4 p.m. They will travel to Washington for a tournament at Washington Golf and Country Club.
