BURLINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? tennis team was in Burlington on Thursday night for a showdown with Notre Dame-West Burlington.
The Panthers were defeated, 6-3, in the matchup. They won two singles matches and one doubles match.

BURLINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? tennis team was in Burlington on Thursday night for a showdown with Notre Dame-West Burlington.
The Panthers were defeated, 6-3, in the matchup. They won two singles matches and one doubles match.
Quin Whaley had the highest win individually for the Panthers. She won the No. 3 matchup, 8-4. Sheyanne Walter took the No. 6 match in a tight one, 9-7.
Singles losses came to No. 1 Meagan Sutherland (8-2), No. 2 Thuan Tran (8-4), No. 4 Kiley Sourwine (8-5) and No. 5 Erin Zihlman (9-7).
Tran and Whaley picked up a win in doubles play, 8-4, in the No. 2 matchup. Sutherland and Sourwine fell 8-5 in the No. 1 game and Zihlman and Walter dropped a close one, 9-7, in the No. 3 game.
The girls? tennis team will be back at the home courts in Mt. Pleasant today (Friday). The Panthers will take on Ft. Madison at East Lake Park in a game starting at 4:30 p.m.
