MP Girls? track and field team places second in Washington

WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls' track and field team competed in Washington on Thursday night. The Panthers scored 65 points for second place, falling only to Benton-Van Horn's 78.
The Panthers had one win on the day. The 4X800 team of Maggie Cristoforo, Maggie Jennings, Cristina Carthey and Taylor Murray dominated the 4X800 with a time of 10:01.24.

WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? track and field team competed in Washington on Thursday night. The Panthers scored 65 points for second place, falling only to Benton-Van Horn?s 78.
The Panthers had one win on the day. The 4X800 team of Maggie Cristoforo, Maggie Jennings, Cristina Carthey and Taylor Murray dominated the 4X800 with a time of 10:01.24.
Mt. Pleasant also had four second-place finishes. Lexie Maganani threw a 38-06 in the shot put for second. Lyndi Vantiger picked up a second-place finish in the lond jump, leaping 15-11.50. Abby Ryon placed second in the 3000-meter run, crossing the tape in 10:67.47, and Maggie Cristoforo picked up the silver in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:08.02.
The Panthers had a third-place finish in the 4X400 as well. The team of Delaney McDowell, Cristina Carthey, Maggie Jennings and Kendall Dascher finished the race in 4:28.26.
The Panther girls will be at Keokuk for their next meet on Tuesday, April 24. That meet is scheduled for 4 p.m.
