MP girls? track runs in Iowa City

IOWA CITY ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? track team ran in Iowa City on Tuesday evening. The Panthers scooped up eight top five varsity finishes including two wins in the meet, which included many eastern Iowa teams in 3A and 4A.
Mt. Pleasant?s best event was the 200-meter dash. Peyton Coffin took first place, in 27.36 seconds and D?Jannay Patterson was second, in 27.66 seconds.

IOWA CITY ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? track team ran in Iowa City on Tuesday evening. The Panthers scooped up eight top five varsity finishes including two wins in the meet, which included many eastern Iowa teams in 3A and 4A.
Mt. Pleasant?s best event was the 200-meter dash. Peyton Coffin took first place, in 27.36 seconds and D?Jannay Patterson was second, in 27.66 seconds.
Coffin finished the day with two individual top five finishes. She also finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, running the race in 13.37 seconds.
Ashlee Menke gave the Panthers another top five finish in the sprint events. She ran fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 17.99 seconds.
In the field events, Abbie Liechty was third in the discus, with a throw of 106-11, and Tuesday Krabill finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4-06.
Mt. Pleasant took three top five finishes in relay events. The top relay team was the shuttle hurdle team of Ashlee Menke, Mikayle Lance, Maddie Williamson and Allison Buckert. They finished first, in 1:11.45.
The 4X200 team of Katie Ensminger, Patterson, Willie Mae Brooks and Coffin finished third, in 1:51.96. The same four girls competed in the 4X100 and finished fifth, in 54.36 seconds.
The Panthers will be back on the track in West Burlington, on Tuesday, March 29, at a meet beginning at 4:30 p.m.
