Mt. Pleasant boys dominate Mid-Prairie meet

WELLMAN ? The Mt. Pleasant boys' track and field team added another win to the record books on Tuesday night, taking the Mid-Prairie meet by 65 points. The Panthers scored 148 points to lead the 17-team field, and Mid-Prairie finished second with 83 points.
Mt. Pleasant won nine events on the day, including eight victories in individual events.

WELLMAN ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team added another win to the record books on Tuesday night, taking the Mid-Prairie meet by 65 points. The Panthers scored 148 points to lead the 17-team field, and Mid-Prairie finished second with 83 points.
Mt. Pleasant won nine events on the day, including eight victories in individual events.
Rylan Seberg was a double-winner on the day. He took the 400-meter dash in 53.03 seconds and picked up a win in the long jump with a leap of 20-09.25.
The Panthers finished first and second in the 110-meter high hurdles. Cole Burns won the event in 14.84 seconds and Chase Lamm was right behind him in 15.52 seconds.
Cody Mertens took first in the 3200-meter run. He crossed the tape in 10:05.24. Jake Lowe took the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the tape in 56.42 seconds.
Zach Beason won the discus throw with a 141-02. Tristan Dirth was third in that event, hurling a 132-07.
Sam Beatty picked up another win in the field events, taking the high jump with a leap of 6-00. The 4X800 team of Jacob Stukerjurgen, Jonathan Ita, Brody Bender and Kyle Vanderham took the top spot in 8:15.90.
Stukerjurgen took first in the 800-meter run, crossing in 2:03.64. Vanderham was third in the 800, finishing in 2:07.06.
The 4X200 team of Khang Truong, Tate Shull, William Copeland and Beason crossed the line in 1:35.91 for second place. The shuttle hurdle team of Hoang Mal, Konnor Peterson, Burns and Lamm picked up a second place finish in 1:00.94.
Lowe took third in the 100-meter dash, crossing the tape in 11.23 seconds. The 4X100 team of Burns, Seberg, Truong and Copeland also picked up a third place finish, crossing in 44.76 seconds.
The Panther boys will be back in action tonight (Thursday) when they run at Eddyville-Blakesburg in a meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. It will be the last meet before the Drake Relays qualifiers are announced.
