AMES ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team competed in a packed field at the Iowa State Indoors, in Ames, on Tuesday. The Panthers picked up five top 20 finishes, including one top five.

AMES ? The Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team competed in a packed field at the Iowa State Indoors, in Ames, on Tuesday. The Panthers picked up five top 20 finishes, including one top five.
Cori Fitten had the best finish of the night. He threw a 50?1? in the shot put, which was his third personal best in the last three meets, and helped him to a fourth overall finish. Keegan Pullis finished 13th in the shot put with a 45?10?.
The next best finish for Mt. Pleasant was the 4X800 team of Kyle Vanderham, Cody Mertens, Jack Davis and Jonathan Ita. The team finished the race in 8:44.59, which was good enough for 11th overall.
Another relay team that was successful was the 4X100 team of Jake Lowe, Pat Canby, Keegan Rich and Brady Sartorius. They finished 17th, at 45.64 seconds.
Adam Bodenham ran the 3200 for Mt. Pleasant. He ran the race in 10:30 for a 20th place finish.
The sprint medley team of Fitten, Canby, Ita and Vanderham finished 21st with a time of 3:57.55.
Sartorius and Rich both competed in the long jump. Sartorius finished 28th, with a leap of 18?4.5? and Rich was 44th, in 17?8.25?.
Lowe and Rich competed in the 60-meter hurdles. Lowe was 26th, finishing in 8.8 seconds. Rich finished 38th, in 9.03 seconds.
Canby and Sartorius ran the 60-meter dash. Canby finished 64th, running the race in 7.39 seconds. Sartorius was close behind him, with a 70th place 7.42-second finish.
The Panthers will be back in action at Central College in Pella on Friday, March 18. That meet starts at 2 p.m.
