Mt. Pleasant girls? golf places second

KEOKUK ? The Mt. Pleasant girls' golf team kicked off the season on Thursday in Keokuk. The Panthers had a nice showing, scoring a 199 to finish second place. Washington won with a 170. Burlington was third with 226. Notre Dame placed fourth with a 242 and Keokuk brought up the rear, shooting 244.

KEOKUK ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team kicked off the season on Thursday in Keokuk. The Panthers had a nice showing, scoring a 199 to finish second place. Washington won with a 170. Burlington was third with 226. Notre Dame placed fourth with a 242 and Keokuk brought up the rear, shooting 244.
The Panthers were led by top five finishes from Anni Liechty and Keri Herr. Liechty shot a 44 to finish third overall and Herr placed fifth witha 47.
Tori Witthoft shot a 53 for Mt. Pleasant. Michal Wohlleber wasn?t far behind her, scoring a 53 to round out the Panther scorers.
Elli Liechty shot a 56 for the Panthers. Melody Miller was three strokes back of her, scoring a 59.
The Panther girls? golf team will be at home on Monday, April 9. They?ll host Muscatine and Burlington at the Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club in a triangular starting at 4 p.m.
