WASHINGTON ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? track and field team competed at the Demon Relays at Case Field in Washington on Thursday. The Panthers were fourth place overall, with a score of 102.
Mt. Pleasant picked up two wins in the meet. The shuttle hurdle team of Mikayle Lance, Ashlee Menke, Maddie Williamson and Allison Buckert won the shuttle hurdle relay, in 1:09.38, and Bailey Johnson won the discus throw, with a hurl of 106-11.
The relay team of Katie Ensminger, D?Jannay Patterson, Brianna Shelman and Peyton Coffin came away with three top three finishes. They were second in the 4X200, in 1:50.80. They got the silver in the sprint medley, finishing in 1:55.86, and they placed third in the 4X100, in 54.21 seconds.
Ensminger had a third place finish individually as well. She took third in the 100-meter dash, in 13.64 seconds.
Other third place finishers were Maddie Williamson, in the 200-meter dash, in 29.45 seconds, and Taylor Murray, in the 800-meter run, in 2:40.15.
The Panther girls will have a short rest before their next meet, in Keokuk, on Tuesday, April 26, at 5 p.m.
