Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis hold Christmas Party
Jan. 11, 2023 3:14 pm
The Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club held its annual Christmas Party at Iowa Wesleyan. Although it is a festive time, it is also a time to raise money for children’s organizations and for needy children of the area. Several thousand dollars were collected through an auction and members' personal donations.
A highlight of the evening is the naming of the Workhorse of the Year recipient. This year's honoree was Jeff Epperson. Mr. Epperson has participated in every program and event that the Kiwanis has sponsored; chairing numerous pancake fundraisers, helping park cars at the Haunted Rails, Boy Scout advocate, gate guarding at Midwest Old Threshers and the Festival of Lights and sheetrocking Habitat for Humanity houses, to name a few of his activities. Mr. Epperson has been and continues to be a vital part of the Kiwanis organization.
The Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club also donates to numerous organizations which are youth orientated. Recently, the club gave $800 to the Young House organization.
