The Fairfield Municipal Band has played every summer since the group started in 1987. It plays six concerts each season filling Fairfield?s Central Park with people who enjoy playing and listening to band music. The group performs a variety of music ranging from old classics by composers, such as Mozart, Haydn and Brahms, to modern pieces from Broadway, the movies and popular music of the day. A program is set to be printed in The Ledger on Mondays before each concert.
The concerts, sponsored by Fairfield Park and Recreation Department, give the Fairfield community a chance to spend some time outdoors while listening to members from their own community perform music in a concert band setting.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
