Washington County 4-H is proud and excited to announce the start of a new 4-H club this year. The 4-H year kicks off in September and this year a new club will join the club list of options for returning and new members.
As 4-H participation has increased in the Washington area, another 4-H club was needed to ensure members would have a hands-on and fun 4-H experience in a safe environment with caring adults. Washington County 4-H will now be adding more youth members and volunteers to their roster which will provide youth with more communication, leadership, learning, and community service opportunities.
Washington now has eight clubs specific to Washington youth, in addition to clubs in Keota, Wellman, Riverside, Kalona, Ainsworth, Crawfordsville, and Brighton.
?It has been wonderful to see our Washington youth numbers increase over the years; however, with that came a great need for an additional club. I am so excited that this is the year!? said Washington County 4-H/Youth Coordinator Amy Green. ?A successful 4-H program relies on willing, creative, and caring adults and I am so thankful we have had those come to the table.?
The 4-H year begins now. New and returning members can start enrolling for the 2014-2015 year.
