NEW LONDON ? Rainy skies interrupted New London?s SEISC South Division showdown with Van Buren on Tuesday night. Both the softball and baseball games were underway, but the games were postponed to a later date after the field got too wet.
Both Tiger teams were leading when the inclimate weather came. The softball game was moving along a little faster than the baseball game. The girls were in the third inning when the game was called.
The Tiger girls led 1-0 after the first two innings. Breanna Mettler had an RBI single with two outs to give New London the early lead.
New London led the boys? game 4-2 after one-and-a-half innings. The Tigers entered the game one game away from clinching at least a share of the conference championship.
The Tigers and Warriors will pick up play today (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. It has not been said whether the games will pick up where they left off or there will be a complete restart.
