New Sweden cemetery association meeting set
LOCKRIDGE ? New Sweden United Methodist Church Cemetery Association will have a spring meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at New Sweden United Methodist Church.
Fairfield Big Band music part of special service
First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield will present a special worship service, with the Fairfield Big Band, at 10:30 a.m. March 30.
The Rev. Joe Phipps, pastor of the church, invites the community to attend the enlightening and inspirational service. Phipps will mix scripture and an inspirational message with special music performed by the 16-piece jazz ensemble.
Songs include: ?Arthritis Blues,? ?Beale Street Boogie,? ?Wade In the Water,? ?Deacon Jack?s Gospel Shack, ?Jesus Loves Me? and others.
Members of the Fairfield Big Band performing for the special service are: Fred Hucke, Sue Hucke, Francis Thicke, Arvin Bogaards, Duncan Phipps, Clara Kelley, Ken Burns, Mark McCabe, Rodger Gillaspie, Gerry Runyon, LeAnne Edgeton, Jim Edgeton, Greg Hanshaw, Tim Nelson, Claudia Sloat and Jim Wotherspoon.
Following the service, a luncheon will be served.
