Dianne Brokken has been a member of the congregations since she was 11 years old.
As an adult she was active in every area of church work. She was especially dedicated to working with children and youth.
As pastor, she led the congregation with enthusiasm and love always reflecting here love for God throughout her ministry, according to congregants.
?The congregation has been very blessed to have her leadership,? said one woman. ?She played a very instrumental role in guiding the rebuilding of the church after the building burned in June 2010.
?Dianne and Leo will be greatly missed in our congregation. However, we know they will continue to serve their Lord in whatever they are led to do in the future.?
Beginning Sunday, Melisa Bracht-Wagner of Mount Pleasant will assume the pastoral duties at New Sweden United Methodist Church.
