New year brings hybrid programming to Washington library

Oh, the possibilities of a new year! My new planner is waiting to be filled with all varieties of programs, events and exhibitions.
The new year at the library brings a revitalized energy, thanks to our new director, Cary Ann Siegfried. Her ideas have sparked creativity and excitement in all the staff.
With Cary Ann’s guidance we have created a whole wall of Inspirational Fiction, making it very easy for patrons to find those heart-warming titles. The Adult Comics have been moved so they are now visible from the sidewalk. We will also be moving New Fiction, New Nonfiction and Large Print New Fiction. So please come in and take a look as we work our way through this.
This coming year will also bring hybrid in-person programming. We will have programs given via Zoom, while our audience attends in-person in the library. This will give us a variety of programs that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. Of course, we will still be scheduling our local talent to educate and entertain us, as usual.
And we will continue to have in-person book club discussions, such as the Book Ladies…and Gents, meeting on the third Thursday of each month. We read within a theme, as opposed to all reading the same title. January’s theme is reading any title by author Maeve Binchy, whose stories are many times set in Ireland. If this interests you, just call 319-653-2726 to register.
Attend one or all of our events and programs. You won’t be sorry!
